George Mason continued one of its best seasons since joining the Atlantic 10 with a 69-62 win over LaSalle.

Brayden O'Connor's career-high 26 points led the Patriots.

The news cycle in the nation's capital tends to miss good stories, and George Mason seems to be slipping through the cracks.

The 23 wins are the most since Mason joined the Atlantic 10 and the most since the 2011-12 season. Even though 20 wins isn't the benchmark it used to be, this is George Mason's third straight season with 20 wins or more. That hasn't been done since the 2010-11 through the 2012-13 season.

Wednesday's win wasn't a resounding response to the loss at Duquesne.

The Patriots have been a defense-first team all season, and at times, they can muck up a game and force teams to get down in the mud with them.
