Maryland Basketball: New Faces in College Park (VIP)
In year three, Willard could have a team that resembles his philosophy
The honeymoon in college basketball doesn't last for long.
When Kevin Willard arrived in College Park, he had the "luxury" of not being the coach that replaced living legend Gary Williams. Unfortunately, Mark Turgeon took on that task.
In year one, Willard led the Terps to a 22-13 record and an NCAA tournament appearance. Year two wasn't a disaster, but it was close enough to cause concern among the fan base. A 16-17 record in a year that had expectations can cause today's fans some consternation.
