Getting Over Your Ex (VIP)
Doncic made his debut in LA and as much as the Lakers crowd embraced him, Doncic still misses his ex.
With every professional sports league having a platform for both free and paid, very few games fall into the "must-see" category.
Last night was supposed to be the exception.
Luka Doncic was making his debut for one of the NBA's most iconic franchises, the Los Angeles Lakers.
I fought back heavy eyelids. That was a challenge with my cats crowding around me and going to sleep. Why were they working against me? Hell, one of my cats is named "Luka"!
If there's a franchise that knows how to do "big," it's the Lakers. They had number 77 t-shirts on all the seats. Doncic was announced last, not LeBron James. The crowd was over the moon, excited to see Doncic hit the floor.
Doncic is LA's next love affair, something James never was. Whereas Doncic is viewed as the next "Laker Great," James was saddled with being viewed as someone who was there to replace Kobe Bryant in the hearts of the fans rather than being next in line.
As Doncic strolled out to the floor for the opening tip, the crowd was on the edge of their seats, but Doncic's face still vibed, "I miss my ex-girlfriend." It will take some time before Doncic feels like a Laker, no matter how much Lakers fans embrace him.
It didn't help that the Mavericks' Governor trashed Doncic after the breakup.
